My two loves are books and health & wellness!  I am a Certified Nutritionist & Yoga Instructor. I hold a Bachelor's & Master's degree in Health Sciences, with minors in English & Literature. I am also a Certified Health Educator (CHES).  Fun things: I am a book gleaner, chronic journaler (is that a word?), genuine introvert, organic garlic grower, trail hiker, sun seeker, and a tea lover. I am excited to be part of the Washburn Memorial Library as the Library Director. It is a quaint and comfortable space to welcome our patrons to enjoy our collection. We work to create offerings for both adults and children to inspire growth in the journey of learning!  We strive to offer something for everybody- from book clubs, yoga classes, game days, children's activities, and more!

I like to ask people what their current favorite books are.  What are mine?  Like most of us, my list is ever evolving, but here are a few I pick up again and again: Divine Rivals (Ross), Essential Oils: Ancient Medicine for a Modern World (Axe), Self-Care for Introverts (Davenport), Chase the Lion (Batterson), Body into Balance: An Herbal Guide to Holistic Self-Care (Groves), Griffin & Sabine series (Bantock), Harry Potter series (Rowling), Wuthering Heights (Bronte), The Forever Dog (Habib & Becker), Believing at the Root (Kavanaugh).

I am so happy to be part of the Washburn Memorial Library as the Children’s Librarian! I am currently working toward my teaching degree and have a lot of experience working with children of all ages. In the past, I have worked as both a substitute teacher and a lead teacher for an after-school and summer program.

A few fun things about me: I absolutely love crafting, everything from needlepointing and scrapbooking to sewing. You can often find me in the garden or working on a quilting project. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that means swimming, hiking, gardening, or simply soaking up some sunshine. In my free time, I also go to yoga and Pilates classes. I have three cats, Forest, Bear, and Cedar. My all-time favorite book is The Great Gatsby (Fitzgerald) along with The Giver (Lowry) and If I Stay (Forman). My current read is the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn
